LSU Museum of Art Launches Digital Membership and Member Portal with Cuseum

LSU Museum of Art Debuts Digital Membership and Member Portal with Cuseum

The LSU Museum of Art has launched their own Digital Membership and a new Member Portal in collaboration with Cuseum, expanding how their members engage with the museum both on-site and digitally.

These tools allow the museum to offer a more efficient and rewarding membership experience. LSU joins a growing number of institutions upgrading to Cuseum’s solutions, including the Don Harrington Discovery Center, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and Baltimore Museum of Art.

A Museum at the Heart of Campus and City

Located on the fifth floor of the Shaw Center for the Arts in downtown Baton Rouge, the LSU Museum of Art features 13,000 square feet of contemporary gallery space across 14 rooms. Its ceilings rise over 15 feet high, providing the scale needed to showcase a diverse collection. With nearly 6,000 works, LSU’s collection is one of the most extensive university-affiliated holdings in the South.

The museum presents a rotating mix of touring exhibitions that include American, regional, and European art in a range of media, from painting and sculpture to photography and decorative arts.

Its mission as both a teaching museum and cultural hub extends into the university community through lectures, acquisitions events, and school programs. Faculty and students from LSU’s College of Art & Design regularly use the museum for curriculum support, while Baton Rouge families, schools, and visiting scholars rely on it as a year-round resource for learning and inspiration.

Tools That Put Members in Control

The combined rollout of Digital Memberships and the Member Portal offers a more direct and flexible experience for members. With the digital card stored in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, members can instantly access their benefits, see their status, and receive renewal reminders—without waiting for mail or replacing lost cards.

Alongside this, the Member Portal gives members a secure place to manage their information, download digital cards, and access guest passes. They can update contact details, view upcoming ticketed events, and redeem member-only perks, all from a single login.

Together, these features reduce the friction often tied to membership. Instead of relying on staff to handle every update or request, members now have the tools to manage their account on their own time, from any device. This shift also relieves staff from the repetitive tasks of printing, mailing, and fielding access issues—allowing more focus on public programs and exhibitions.

Why This Digital Shift Matters Now

Switching to digital benefits offers clear, measurable value. Costs go down by cutting out printing, postage, and paper waste. Staff gain time by automating routine updates and eliminating manual entry. Most importantly, communication improves. Renewal notices and member alerts arrive instantly through push notifications or digital updates—no inbox clutter, no delays.

The portal also opens the door to deeper engagement. Members can discover new perks, access exclusive content, and see their benefits in one place. With better visibility and control, members are more likely to renew and stay connected throughout the year.

For any museum aiming to offer more value while using fewer resources, this digital transition isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a shift toward a smarter, more member-friendly model.
