Today, we’re happy to announce the unveiling of an exciting new Mobile Engagement feature: AI-powered Text-to-Speech. Aimed at enabling our mobile app customers to effortlessly serve their visitors better and faster, the launch of AI-powered Text-to-Speech means that all text-based app content can be instantly converted to a state-of-the-art audio format. In other words, even when no audio has been recorded and uploaded, audio content can be made available auto-magically, making every app a true audio guide.
Let’s learn more!
Today’s Audio Doesn’t Require Yesterday’s Recording Sessions
In the past, creating an audio guide was a lengthy process. To create these materials, museums used to rent time at recording studios, hire voice talent, and direct significant time and resources towards post-production processes. As technology evolved, it became possible to record audio with nothing more than a smartphone, but editing and polishing recordings has remained a timely obstacle. And, when it comes to recording foreign-language content, just think of the extra time and effort required to find and secure voice talent!
Today, it doesn’t need to be this way. That’s where Cuseum’s new Text-to-Speech functionality comes in. Powered by industry-leading AI and natural language processing technology, Cuseum’s Content Management System (CMS) now includes automatic Text-to-Speech capabilities.
How to Use Cuseum’s Text-to-Speech
Using Cuseum’s CMS, it’s never been easier to create audio content on demand. After logging in to our CMS, you can simply click “Text-to-Speech”, and within seconds you’ll receive a near-human audio recording of the source text.
For visitors of no or low vision, the audio is night-and-day compared to robotic screen readers. As museums pivot to digital engagement, one of the areas where they continue to lag is ensuring their digital content is widely accessible. According to Meredith Peruzzi, Director, National Deaf Life Museum at Gallaudet University, “many of the [museum] tours and applications hosting virtual content are incompatible with screen reader software, making them inaccessible to people who are blind or have low vision.” With our Text-to-Speech feature, this no longer needs to be an issue!
Moving Towards a Frictionless Future
At Cuseum, it is our goal to make it easier than ever to engage your visitors. With this new Text-to-Speech functionality, we look forward to making the process of developing and serving top-notch, engaging audio content simpler than ever within our Mobile Engagement platform. If time, resources, and costs have ever precluded you from offering an accessible audio guide, this feature is for you!
Be on the lookout for even more feature announcements in the near future.
