Mission San Juan Capistrano has many of reasons to celebrate on March 19th! Not only is it their annual celebration of the Return of the Swallows and St. Joseph’s Day, but it’s also when their new, mobile app, in partnership with Cuseum, will launch!
“The Mission App offers a new way to engage with the historical landmark, featuring interactive maps and tours, exclusive offers, museum highlights, special invitations, visitor tips and more.
Four tours will be featured to start, including the Swallows Tour, the General History Tour, and the Fourth-Grader tour, with more to be added in the future.
The Mission App is a personal guide to more than 200 years of history, complete with stories and legends dating back to the 1700s.”
While it’s widely renowned for its celebration of the Return of the Swallows, the Mission also hosts permanent exhibits, including “Mission Treasures: Historical Collections Revealed,” daily bell ringings, and hands on activities, as well as festivals and celebrations.
The site and buildings of the mission are part of the history and cultural exhibits, including the Ruins of the Great Stone Church and the Serra Chapel. The gardens feature traditional plants that would have been vital to life in the 18th and 19th centuries. Tour these locations and many more with the new Mission SJC mobile app!
The Mission San Juan Capistrano app is available for free on the App Store.
