Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s mission is focused on the rescue, rehab, and release of marine animals while “educating and inspiring guests of all ages.” Although their primary goal is to rehabilitate injured animals and release them back into their natural environment, in certain situations an animal will find a permanent home at Clearwater. In that case, the animal becomes a “permanent member of the CMA family, and lives here to serve as an ambassador for its species to help us promote environmental conservation.”
