Today, Cuseum is happy to announce an exciting new functionality for our Digital Membership customers: extended support for Android and Google Pay. This new release will provide our partners with even more comprehensive support for mobile wallets, empowering them to offer their members the most seamless and up-to-date way to download and use digital membership cards.

New and improved Android wallet

In the last several months, Google Pay has undergone an enormous transformation and has recently been relaunched with an array of new features. These upgrades couldn’t be more timely, since the adoption of mobile wallets and contactless payments has soared to an all-time high. According to January 2021 data by Visa, there has been a permanent shift towards digital commerce globally: more than half (56%) of consumers have used contactless payments whenever possible in the past three months and nearly two thirds (65%) of consumers say that post-vaccine, they would prefer to use contactless payments as much as, or even more than they do currently.

Google has continuously evolved its mobile wallet app, known by many names over time (Android Pay, Pay with Google, Google Wallet, Google Pay) - it’s exciting to see GPay become a staple for Android users, and we’re happy to provide yet another place for members to store their digital membership cards.

Quicker and easier to install membership cards

With Cuseum’s enhanced support for Android, Android smartphone users will be able to quickly and easily add their digital membership card directly to Google Pay (GPay), the core wallet app for Android. Additionally, anyone with a Google account (such as Gmail) will have the option to add their membership card to their account, whether from their mobile device or desktop, making it that much easier for users of all kinds to access their membership benefits.

Compatibility with more devices than ever

The new version of GPay is also available for iOS devices, so even your members with iPhones will have multiple options as to where they’d like to store their digital membership card, in addition to their Apple Wallet. In addition to this extended support for Google Pay, we will continue to support 3rd-party Android apps such as WalletPasses. This means your Cuseum-powered digital membership card will provide you with many expansive ways to serve your constituents.

Moving towards a frictionless future

At Cuseum, it is our goal to make it easier than ever to engage and retain your members, and with this new and enhanced support for Android devices through GPay, we look forward to making this process that much more frictionless and intuitive. Be on the lookout for even more feature announcements in the near future!
