The Seattle Aquarium opened in 1977 and is managed by the nonprofit Seattle Aquarium Society. They currently have six major exhibits, including Window on Washington Waters, Life on the Edge, Pacific Coral Reef, Birds & Shores, the Underwater Dome, and Marine Mammals. Their mission is “inspiring conservation of our marine environment,” and is reflected in their programs.
