This past Memorial Day weekend marked a historic moment for the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) as they became the largest contemporary art museum in the United States upon the opening of their newest building.
The opening celebration was nothing short of electrifying, and Cuseum was there in support of the launch of their new mobile guide! MASS MoCA’s app offers visitors recommended tours, guidance throughout the 250,000 sf campus, history, and easy-to-make reservations for viewing James Turrell’s highly lauded installations.
“If most museums are boxes for static display, MASS MoCA has always aspired to be more like a turntable. At its heart, the expansion of MASS MoCA deepens our commitment to the interplay of visual and performing arts at a time when they are increasingly intertwined, fluid, and mutually reinforcing.” - Joe Thompson, Director of MASS MoCA
We applaud MASS MoCA for their commitment to innovation in the arts, their community, and the creative economy – and can’t wait to see this “turntable” continue to evolve and spin!
