Membership Made for the Modern Era
Capitol Park Museum has launched Digital Memberships in partnership with Cuseum, streamlining how members receive benefits and stay connected. With this move, the museum joins a cohort of forward-looking institutions—including the Don Harrington Discovery Center, LSU Museum of Art, and Baltimore Museum of Art—using mobile technology to enhance access and communication.
Where Louisiana’s Stories Come Alive
Since opening in 2006, Capitol Park Museum has stood as a vital space for preserving and presenting the history, art, and culture of Louisiana. Located in Baton Rouge and operated as part of the Louisiana State Museum system, the museum showcases centuries of transformation—from Indigenous traditions to the civil rights movement to the deep cultural imprint of Creole and Cajun communities.
Educational outreach is core to its mission, supported by a dedicated team and the Friends of the Capitol Park Museum, a nonprofit organization established in 2009. Together, they have raised over one hundred thousand dollars in support of exhibits, events, and learning programs. The museum also plays an active role in the community, with initiatives that welcome students, families, and cultural tourists from across the state and beyond.
A Smarter, Simpler Member Experience
With Digital Membership now in place, Capitol Park Museum offers members a faster, more flexible way to engage. Members can:
Access their membership cards directly on their phones
Receive automatic renewal reminders
Stay informed about special events and updates
Avoid delays and lost cards entirely
This upgrade improves how the museum connects with members day to day—without relying on printed materials or manual fulfillment.
Why Digital Makes a Difference
Switching to digital means reduced mailing costs, fewer administrative hours, and a more eco-conscious approach to membership. For members, it’s convenience and consistency: no more misplaced cards, and no more wondering if a renewal notice is on the way.
“This change lets us focus more on sharing Louisiana’s history—and less on paper and postage,” a staff member noted. “It’s a small shift with a meaningful impact on how we serve the community.”
