Statement: We stand in solidarity with the Black community

We stand in solidarity with the Black community.
Cuseum values equality, accessibility, and inclusion across the cultural sector and entire world.
We stand with those raising their voices in support of justice and equality.
We know that actions speak louder than words and that we have lots of work to do. In the meantime, we will be finding ways to support organizations that are playing a role in addressing social justice, fostering inclusion, and promoting civil rights.
Cultural institutions hold an extraordinary responsibility. Museums, historical societies, and cultural organizations are entrusted with telling the story of who we are — and who we have been. That story is incomplete, and at times has been actively distorted, when Black voices, Black history, and Black artistic contributions are left out or pushed to the margins.
We recognize that issuing a statement is the easiest part. The harder, more meaningful work happens over months and years: re-examining whose stories are being told, who is making collection and curatorial decisions, who is on staff and on boards, and who feels welcomed through the front doors. We're committed to listening to and learning from the cultural institutions, scholars, and community leaders who have been doing this work for a long time.
As a company that builds technology for the cultural sector, we want our products and partnerships to support equity rather than reinforce existing barriers. That includes thinking carefully about accessibility, about which institutions we amplify, and about how digital tools can broaden — rather than gatekeep — access to art, history, and culture.
We're grateful to be part of a community of museums, attractions, and nonprofits doing the difficult, ongoing work of becoming more inclusive. We're committed to standing alongside them, and to using our platform to lift up the organizations leading the way.
